Quiche and Airbending

Um...sorry about the bad stills from Avatar, we were watching it and we paused it to go get more dinner then we decided to make a vlog. Quite the random still frame to pause on (bonus points if you can figure out what episode this is)...but the quiche was good, as Kelly so aptly demonstrates. Stupid, stupid rat creatures.

Kung Fu Kelly

Little did you know Kelly does Kung Fu in her spare time. She has been practicing up and decided to do a demonstration tonight for you. Watch in amazement, and hold on to your socks, as the gravity-defying awesomeness astounds you! We are not responsible for any crazy antics, scared children or lost socks that may result from watching this movie. (May not be appropriate for audiences with weak constitutions. Not approved for viewing within the city limits of Omaha, Reno or Tehran, or within the Achaemenid Empire.)

Pic-a-nic (minus the blanket and basket)

Stoplight

My garden is like a stoplight. The colors are changing! First it was green for a while, then yellow for a short short time, and now red! Hooray, my tomatoes are ripening!! I just had to share this with everyone.
And of course I have to update you on the rest of the garden. MY wildflowers did not fare too well on my vacation, but they are making a comeback, you can see the little bit of green in there.
My begonia is doing well; no flowers yet tho.
My plastic pot did very well while I was gone. I still am not sure what's growing in there.
There are these little flowers...
And these bigger plants.
Anyone know what either one is?

Kelly's leaving me!

Well Kelly decided to leave me. Luckily she gave me fair warning and won't leave for another 2 months.

The things we carried

These are some of the things we brought back from Japan on our recent trip. I'm still feeling jet-lag, but its getting better.

Sleep, as usual

So Dave took the sleeping pills last night and was able to fall asleep. However, he didn't sleep very well. He tossed and turned all night, and woke up in the middle to take another pill. But at least he was able to sleep some. So today he was pretty tired (as far as I could tell), so its not surprising that he's conking out this early. Now we'll just have to see if I can do the same. I've been falling asleep around 1, but I woke up at 8 this morning. We'll see how it goes.

Airport Again

After a fun time in Tokyo visiting my parents, it was time to head home. The kids you see in this video are my nephew Kenny and my niece Ruth. We left Narita around 6 or 630 PM, and got into LAX around 1 PM I believe. Time travel! After at least 12 hours of traveling, we made it safely home and are attempting to recover from jet lag.

Day 8: Tokyo Disney Sea!

Today we took the train over to Tokyo Disney Sea. It's a separate park from Tokyo Disneyland, much like California Adventures in that sense. It has some pretty great rides in it and we had lots of fun.

Akihabara: The Electronics District

Dave and my Dad had so much fun talking geek here in Akihabara. There was so much electronc stuff in these little tiny street markets.

Two worlds, One family

Dave:

Kelly:
Well, Kelly made a video on her much crappier camera phone, but the sound doesn't want to upload along with the video, so we have a blogger video. Hope it works for you all. All in all, her world of school at Cal State LA is coming to an end. Today was her last day of finals, yay! She accidentally forgot her drawing tools for her soils class, but the boy next to her was kind enough to share when he saw her lack. She finished the test really fast though. It was only 2 questions, and took her about half an hour, but it seemed that the rest of the students were going to be there much longer. We'll see how it turns out. Her other test, Math 209, went fairly well too. No more school for her for a little while. And speaking of school later on, she finally got a letter of recommendation of sorts from the Civil Engineering department and sent it into admissions appeals. Hopefully admissions will grant her access (and soon!) back to the school in Fall and then she can be done with school once and for all!

EDIT: Got Kelly's video to upload properly. Enjoy!

Typical

I feed Dave any sort of warm meal, and this is what happens. And now that our old bed is out in the living room, I have a feeling I'm going to see this a lot more.

Attention

Don't worry, there really is no neglect in this house. Especially since today was the last day of classes for me! Yay! Now just finals next Monday and Tuesday, and then off to Japan for a glorious vacation, and then hopefully I will neglect Dave all fall semester at BYU...what? Just kidding, but not...anyway. No neglect. P.S. Happy June!
